it was so magical to see these koalas in the otway forests. not a zoo, just a fantastic stretch of coast with koalas in almost every tree that you can look in. some teetering in branches above the road. I love the way they perch, not on their 'bums' but somehow a bit further up. they eat for 20 hours a day, sleep for 3.5 and move round in the last few minutes. tempting.
we also perched for awhile, but the leaves aren't as tasty as the koalas make them look.
