mettapulyiam

Somehow we've lost a whole folder of pictures taken after we left the Hampi area toward Puttaparthi. One day we might find some, but for now here we are in Mettupalayam.

For the record: Mettupalayam (Tamil: மேட்டுப்பாளையம்)is a taluk of Coimbatore Rural district, located northern part of the city Coimbatore on the way to Ooty. It is located in the foot hills of Nilgiri hills which is about 38 km north of downtown Coimbatore, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

we stayed in a little hut without electricity and watched wild pigs snuffle past at dusk.  no tigers, but lots of other creatures to admire.  my favourite was the baby elephant being taken care of in a sanctuary.
We've seen: bats, eagles, geckos, geese, elephants, dogs, cats, milllipedes, bison, deer, wild hens, fish, cows aplenty, ants, bees, lizards, mosquitos, frogs, crows, bulls, sparrows, butterflies, moths and cockroaches. exploring, watching, learning.
