hesitant climber

I'm glad Adrian took this one, as just afew weeks later, he is powering up the stairs (he's not so sure about how to get down, though!).

how many breakfasts?

this is how many breakfasts I've had ... one with ma, when we come down at 5am, then one with dad later, then some more with ma when she eats her brekkie, and then one more if I'm lucky. did i mention that i like eating? mmmmmm....

twins

this really was a coincidence, but bella and janu decided to wear identical clothes to our little baby dancing session. they slept through most of it...elmo did all the dancing!

love bug

no one could have guessed when adrian got this little toy out of skip years before janu was born - - but it's his all time favourite. it has been to oz with us, and will still cheer him up when he's shreiking. maybe because it's broken and makes a loud whirring sound but doesn't go anywhere - who knows?

a year on

this pic was taken in the same spot we

took one of Janu in little jungle print nappies, all tiny. maybe every year we can have an azalea celebration. they are on fire just outside, and have just got brighter and brighter.

look at me

ooooh he's so clever

a spring green

Our mates Lydia, Robert & (the smaller one) Scarlet are ridiculously active in the SW Branch of the Green Party. Here Janu gets an early taste of how fun it is to block traffic, blow whistles and bang drums, making lots of noise celebrating something good for a change! The Greens have candidates for all 19 county seats this year...

worming his way in...

I thought I knew a thing or two about worms, but now we can tell a lop worm from a rose-tip! did you know that you can see male sex nodes on some worms? Others have flat tails? and australia has the biggest worm in the world (in Gippsland)! Little man was fully involved in the identification, as you can see. It was just us, the worms, and a site where, 15 years earlier, Adrian designed a park when he was a landscape officer at the local council. And now it's a community garden!

garlic breath

everyone here keeps talking about how amazing the bluebells are, but I think the wild garlic is just as magical.

arf

Janu can't quite figure out these strange creatures that have landed in his house! We are dogsitting balu and cookie for a while, and there is a small chance he is enjoying it more than they are...
