mini islands in the backyard - janu named one of them the 'pretty island' all covered in peony blossom 

memory book

one day Janu got out a blue hardcover book of his, and said 'i'm just checking if I can play with you now'.  And then he started ripping out paper and putting it inside to make it look a bit messy.  he called it his memory book - and then it clicked: his diary! Adrian & I both have dark blue diaries, and obviously ponder over them sometimes... what a cutie.

having a euc in the backyard can be good, reminding me of home! Our friend mike luckily likes his chainsaw enough to come and play up there.  Our roof was also rotten; builders found 15 dodgy beams up there. Janu now says 'now we're ready when it rains!' we got a good view from the scaffolding.

en route to the last seedling swap we had in town. There was a lovely vibrant affair before BBC Radio 4 (Radio National equivilent) held in Totnes, and lots of the local food groups had stalls.

Adrian loves this pic of him grinning at the bottom - we see alot of this but it's hard to capture it on camera sometimes! This blog has not been responding on this computer for some time now, it may be that my old computer has finally bitten the dust.

the afore mentioned seedling swap we held prior to a BBC radio live 'gardener's question time'. sorry about the pics not being turned, but you get the idea.

east portlemouth

a gorgeous rainy day (!) at east portlemouth. it was cold and rainy, which you can tell if you look at the adults, rather than frolicking freezing kids! In one of the videos, you can hear someone saying 'no loveday, don't do it!" - trying to convince her not to go in the freezing water. I have been in a few times, and the water is so cold it makes me want to vomit (just for a minute, then it feels nice!) Loveday is a traditional cornish name!

another one of Janu's fave games. Couchs often turn into boats. Max & Amber are both really fantastic at playing with him. They have both even put Janu to bed when we've all had sleepovers. And Janu has slept next to Max in 2 singles pushed together once. Max likes a sleep in, and one morning when we went looking for Janu at 7.30am (who is usually up at 6am), he was lying the darkened room with Max, not wanting to leave his side!

Sylvi's 3!  Sunny party at Maude's house, replete with at least one naked child.  You can see Pol sewing on the couch behind, the context to my previous blog - just when you thought they looked all peaceful there on the couch!
