arcs

things have been hectic to say the least, but I promise I'll get some more pics on here soon! Here is the star of the show, with a very familiar arc around him - could be in dust, sand, leaves.. but his cars like to leave their mark. [I was reminded to update the blog by these great pics sent by Barry, when we visited him in Malaysia]

wave leaper

full days and sleepless nights (as usual) down the coast. he was treated like royalty by his doting grandparents, and misses the walks down the beach to buy the morning paper, the special meals (nectarines, peaches, cherries....mmmmm) and all that good lovin'.

sop+hia

I love that Soph and I (tried to!) feed our babes to sleep on the beach. Griff slept for a wee while, but I think there was too many waves to leap over to sleep!

the best bit of returning to broulee was that soph, josh and griffin came with us! two mouths, bottoms, and all those arms and legs to keep track of. it was wonderful. (can you tell I have my rosy glasses on whenever I remember my time in oz?!) dad read philosophy (and dirty jokes) to griff and janu. griffin was wonderfully mobile, while the video shows janu so excited, but not even contemplating moving to get his ball. (poor boys will have to put up with their mum's singing all the songs we learnt at primary school in canberra! )

back to the coast...

broulee again, this time with lovely sis and folks and soph and josh. and a hot little munchkin who was missing his dad (actually it was kind of hard to tell if he noticed!) It was too hot to go the beach some days, so we filled saucepans of water, and made a little beach on our verandah. soon we won't be able to fool him quite so easily. the days are numbered too, how long I can disguise healthy food with a tiny dollop of yogurt on the tip of spoon.

little vaarsha

we had such a tiny amount of time in sydney, not long enough to catch up properly with wonderful tharshini & vimilan and their beautiful sleepy daughter. tharshini and adrian worked together in jaffna, sri lanka (he often said she could run the whole office!). We knew she and Vimilan were in sydney, but we didn't know they'd had a little baby! So it was wonderful to meet her, even if she was veeeeeery sleepy. Next time we can have longer, and feast on good food and our little ones can run around together. Adrian flew back to england the next morning.....

kate + seb + stellar

picnic in the park, xmas leftovers, dogs running, babies snuffling, lots of up-catching to do! really wonderful, and not nearly long enough time in the sun with kate and sebastian. Kate and I worked together in Sri Lanka, and she continues to do amazing things and jets off to hot places like the superstar and wonderful woman that she is... xxx

xmas - the fam

This is why I really wanted to be in Australia this year - the big family was all getting together for the first time in aaaages. There were over 20 of us, all cousins, aunts, uncles and thousands of kids. Janu was the littlest, and, true to form, definately liked all the paper packaging (who cares what was inside!) Swimming in the pool, lots of food, cooking, games, more food, trampolines, naps, (dad actually napped UNDER the trampoline!?)punch, relaxing, food, playing secret santa (where you can steal the present from someone else if you like theirs better!) It felt like a perfect xmas.

sink-ing

splashing in the sink, getting ready for his big day ! How many of us could have a lovely deep bath in the bathroom sink? With a belly like that?

kuringai

we stopped in a drippy rainy kuringai national park on the way
to our cousin's place in syd.. pulling hair is good!

up in the hills

on a hot hot day, we drove into the forests far behind the beaches, up up into the hills.
