he had a blessed time in the early days, with lots of people wandering past ready to pick him up at a moment's whimper (most of the time it was 'where is bo'? as he slept in an odd corner..) Granny picked up the slack as he'd often wake just as we were sitting down to eat.

kimmy

kimmy was our allocated midwife, although she didn't make it to the birth. she comes for a cuddle, and helped us give bo his first bath.  janu's midwife was called kim, too! 

outing

another early outing, to a local playground. bo slept on my chest, and I changed his nappy (3 times in succession on the grass - stressful for a new mum!) I got to follow niamh around, exploring everything.

did I mention my lovely sis booked to come down 1 day before his due date, and he came 4 days early! So she & big cousin Niamh could see very, very early moments. With a very, very clever camera!

xmas lunch picnic on the beach.  cherries, snoozing, wave jumping, penguin searching, cheese nibbling....

stockings! the best thing at xmas?! We hurridly made Bo's stocking the night before (remembering making Janu's together with Sophie Kneebone at the coast a few years ago).  

we had so many beautiful pressies sent by girlfriends from england - cushions, toys, clothes, baby things, so much love bundled up and sent across the seas.

jesus&mary

a local church had a big 'jesus's birthday party', so we went along. I almost offered Bo as the baby in the manger (oh, that's jesus, isn't it?) as he was in that very sleepy stage. But I thought the 8yr old Mary might drop him on his head.

we left santa some cherries from our tree, and a funny tasting gingerbread.
